Alternative App for viewing Photos

Any recommendations for an alternative app to the stock Gallery application for photo viewing?

Gallery does not allow the user to choose folder (s) to add to gallery which puts lots of un-needed pictures (mainly from downloaded HTML email/email signatures) in the gallery.

The gallery app is significantly improved in android 2.1. I know that doesn't answer your question but some should be getting 2.1 on their phones possibly as soon as January 22nd.

You might like Astro. I just installed it and haven't played much with it, but looks like it will give you what you want.

Astro has got an image viewer built in and it does allow you to navigate to a folder and view just the images in that folder.

Now - anyone know of a slideshow app that will play a slideshow of JUST the images in a set folder, or (ideally) all folders WITHIN a set folder?
