alternative to electrical tape???

I am doing this http://cr-48.wikispaces.com/Open+the+Cr-48 , so i need electrical tape, i was wondering if there were any alternatives, or if electrical tape is the best choice.

It says use electrical tape.. why would you want to use something else? You can get electrical tape at Harbor Freight for under 50 cents per roll if you don't have any..

You can get a liquid that's marketed as being equivalent to electrical tape but I've only had limited success with it. Personally I'd just use regular electrical tape...
