Am I the only one having issues with the new Software Update? That is probably a dumb question but I just had to ask. I have the Galaxy S5. I received the two new software updates this morning, around 6:45 am. The first one was to "prepare" my phone for the next big update. The second update arrived just a minuet later. After the second update, everything seemed to be wrong. I can't reply to text messages from my lock screen for starters. I REALLY loved that feature. It was my favorite feature. It was so convenient. I checked the settings for it and it hasn't changed so that isn't the issue. I can no longer operate my phone without the Amazon App sending a notification claiming it stopped working. It doesn't have an update needed according to the Play Store. The message has popped up at least 20 times, if not more. I've reported it at least 5 times. The screens seems to be less sensitive. I used to be able to exit out of the Recent Applications feature by tapping on the screen. It no longer does that. I do not enjoy that at all. I've had issues with buttons on devices failing so I wanted to not use the home button if I didn't have to because I need to have this phone for another year or so. Now I have to use the home button. I really don't enjoy using it unless my phone is on standby and I have to use it to display the lock screen. I'm preserving my power button even more because of these past issues. Ugh. Long story short, this update has been extremely buggy in ways I have already explained and also can't explain. I REALLY hope a new update is out soon to fix these issues. If I could get some advice on this, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

I'm still on Verizon 4.4.4 and have avoided the upgrade by turning off all of the config.update files. Plus, I configured the phone to update via WiFi only and just don't use Wifi anymore.

But to your problem, from what I read, if you will try two things, you might get it to working better.

1st, just power it off, hold down Vol Up, Home key, Power Button...
until the menu comes up or it vibrates.

then use Vol buttons to Clear Cache Partition.
that is quite safe, and you loose nothing.
Reboot the phone and try it out. If it "is fixed" then you won.

If that did not fix it, then choose a Factory Reset which will force the phone to clear out all apps and old configuration data.
It will then come up in the new OS that was installed and go thru the registration process and should now be working okay.

At this point, you have to reinstall any apps you want.
Oh, be darned sure you save all data you want before you do the FR.
