Am I the only one?

I've used both apex and nova launchers and my maxx hd still is very laggy. Stuttering sometimes when opening apps. I can't even think about using it without a launcher. These issues seem to have disappeared from the forums, so I almost feel like it's just my phone.

Most people realized that they really had to do a Factory Data Reset after a major system upgrade (like ICS to JB) and if they didn't eventually unexplained problems like the one you report appeared. Did you do the Factory Data Reset?

Jelly Bean allows you to run in Safe Mode (disabling all apps you added without uninstalling them). If you run in Safe Mode and the problems disappear then you know it caused by an app you added and you need to seek it out. (Safe Mode will also disable added launchers like Nova Launcher Prime) when it runs.)

There are three Maxx HD's in use by my family. None have lag. My teenage son, an avid gamer, would be certain to tell me if his Maxx HD had any lag. I occasionally use my wife's Maxx HD and I haven't noticed any lag. My phone is plenty quick and responsive, no lag. I use Nova, my wife and son use stock Moto launcher.

The nature of forums is that people don't post "my phone is working perfectly", they post when they have problems. The fact that you aren't seeing many posts on lag for the Maxx HD is probably because not many are experiencing it.

Unfortunately I have tried everything I believe. I did the FDR a couple times, wiping cache multiple times, going into safe mode, and even using a program (I forget which) to do some reinstall of everything. After all that, it is still noticeably laggy going from screen to screen. Sigh... maybe it's just my phone? Could it be bad hardware?

I had an unexplained problem like that on the Bionic. I played around with it and found that if I turned GPS off I no longer had the problem. So I just turned GPS on when I wanted to do something with it. Something was sitting in the background constantly going to GPS (if it was on).

Just did a whole FDR again and disabled all gps.... No change. Transitions from screen to screen are very laggy (esp going to the quick settings page and the adding extra home page)

Have you tried wiping the cache partition? I suppose a FDR would accomplish this at the same time, but not sure.

How much RAM is free to be used? (Click Settings, Apps, Running and look in lower right hand corner of screen.)

I think by now, most people that used the forum have either unlocked their boot loader and flashed a ROM, or have moved on to a new phone.

I started flashing ROMs as soon as the boot loader was unlocked, and haven't had a touch of lag since.

I knew that was always the option I had, but I've been hesitant after hearing so many stories of people having issues unlocking their boot loaders, especially since the jb updates. Is there a specific set of directions that you used and know to work well? And which ROM are you on?

I had major lag and crashing after using the phone for 8 months, I just did a FDR and the phone is like new again, very smooth and awesome batter life again

Are you stock? You have no lag at all swiping from page to page? Even the quick settings page?

Excuse my ignorance, but what all gets wiped out if you do a FDR? What all would I have to re-add and redo?

Thanks.

everything you did when you first bought the phone...although contacts would populate in once you link your google account..it makes it like new, annoying to set everything up again but worth it if you're having issues.

I'm hoping it was a hardware issue and I just got verizon to replace my phone out of warranty. Hoping that the replacement is a little less laggy.

If you've taken the latest update, it's probably too late.

Otherwise, you can probably Google RAZR HD bootloader unlock and find everything. Pretty sure everything is on the droidrzr.com forums.

I was just on the carbon 4.2.2 ROM, and right now I'm on the OSE ROM http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/30551-rom431officialose-romxt926/page-2#entry372753

I'm so glad I unlocked my bootloader, especially with all the complaints about a lack of update. Best thing I ever did with this phone.
