Amazon Instant Video on Android TV

Amazon Prime Instant Video is now available through the Amazon Android App. Does it mean that it will be available on the upcoming Android TV as well? Or is it just for smartphones/tablets?

Android TV? ...something like android-tv-box.cn ? Often heavily DRM'd streaming video services don't work on Chinese Android TV boxes and HDMI dongles, and definitely don't work if they're rooted, services like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc.

A Chromecast would be OK though.

As long as the boxes will have access to the Amazon App Store like any other Android with Play access, it should work. I only say "should" because Amazon may recant at any point to keep it exclusive to Fire TV (though I don't know why they would because you can stream Prime via Roku).

Of course when I search "Android TV" within the People's Republic, tend to get all kinds of things. So this is a new device from Google. Wasn't there a "Google TV", but is now discontinued?

Oh yeah, there were plenty of Google TVs. They've long since passed away.
