amazon mp3 keeps draining my battery

What is up with this program? Everytime I open task killer it shows Amazon MP3 as running. I have NEVER used Amazon MP3. Amazon MP3 came with the phone, yet my carrier won't support it ( cough Sprint ), they say call the application provider. I can't get a phone number to Android to give them a piece of my mind. I call Amazon and get sales people that don't want to listen and dump me on anyone they can find and are the wrong people. Why can't I get support? Why can't I uninstall Amazon MP3? I don't want Amazon MP3, not if it is going to run all the time and drain my battery.

PS. People would not blame Android for crappy programming if they could remove marketing crap (cough Amazon MP3) that is spying on us and draining our batteries.

I gotta say man I really hate the bloatware too... I wish I could remove it... but as it stands the best solutions are rooting the phone to remove it... or getting a task killer that blocks programs from starting... also keep in mind tho that the Android OS is designed to keep a lot loaded on the RAM for quick access... but it does not necessarily mean that it is draining your battery or even running.

Welcome to the forums BTW!!!!!!!

It doesn't run all the time. I just opened System Panel. It shows Amazon MP3 as cached, not active.

yea, it doesnt run all the time. Just because it is cached doesnt mean its running. The OS likes to use all it's memory, and cache every program it can. Dont worry, they arent using battery.

Mine doesn't show up in running apps unless I actually use it. If I kill it afterward then it doesn't come back until I run it myself, not sure why yours would run all the time and mine wouldn't though.

Do anyone know the name of a task killer, that can auto kill crap that I can't uninstall? I am willing to pay money, so the solotion does not cause more problems by downloading ads so they can pay thief programers. In short, I don't want a task killer that also drains my battery.

Then you don't want a task killer. The stock stuff is well programmed. It's not going to suck your battery and keep your phone awake. A task killer will. A task killer will kill the program, the program will tell the system that it closed unexpectedly and the system will start it up again. The task killer will kill it again. It'll start up again. Lather, rinse, repeat. This whole process will drain your battery. Just leaving the stock stuff running won't impact the battery at all.

If you read my post, I pretty much explained it. You dont need a task killer. Just because a program is cached doesnt mean it is using any battery. The OS likes to have programs cached, and will keep its memory full. Using a task killer actually uses MORE battery, because the task killer will kill a bunch of apps, then the OS will just load them back into memory.
