Amazon donates to your favorite charity when you shop. All you have to do is pick a place and use the Smile link instead of the regular Amazon link. Couldn't be easier. You can change the charity any time you want, right now I'm donating to Ventana Wildlife Society (save a condor!).

They only donate .5% so it's not a ton but every little bit helps. Just remember that this doesn't absolve you from making a 'real' donation too

The kid told me about it a while ago. He heard about it through a sea turtle conservation group (don't recall which one) he works with through his rattlesnake research/field work.

I mean, they aren't getting a lot of money through the program really but anything is better than nothing!

I never saw Amazon promote it, it's sort of like a secret unless you go looking for it.

Yes, I've been doing it for a while. My charity is Compassion For Cats Of New London County Inc, which is a no kill shelter for cats. Someone I know in cyberspace volunteers for them and talks about them; I didn't know anything about Smile until I read his posts. At some point I'll change charities to something else that's near and dear to my heart.
