I received an Amber Alert notification this morning on my Razr. It came up as a small dialog box that gave me options of "more detail", "close", etc.When I clicked on "more detail", it appeared for a few seconds, then poof. It disapeared. It is not under the notifications menu, where did it go? Can I get it back?

Was it for a local alert? Earlier today, on the car radio, they brought up an amber alert for a 12 year old, who was taken from Texas and may be heading toward Chicago with an adult woman who may have taken her.
It seems to me when a local alert is issued, I receive it on the phone but this one wasn't broadcast on my phone. I'm just curios if yours was local or not.

Yes, that is mandated on new phones in the US. I got one for the Blizzard the whacked the northeast in February. Scared the crap out of me.
Friday.. during work luncheon.. my Sprint GS3 .. got an amber alert.. loud and surprised us all. one was on ATT and other was on Tmobile. they did not get the alert.
my sister has the same Sprint SGS3 .. but did not get an alert.
this is my 3rd alert in 6 months. she has not gotten any.
at her work (she works at sprint HQ).. some get it and some dont.
it also looks to be a text alert.
why not have more detail? why not add in pics of child and suspect and car?? it would be of much better use to everyone.
