Ambient light sensor

Really having a problem over the last month. Every call that I make, the light sensor kicks in and I'm unable to use rh phone, cut the call... I have to dial the phone from another line to activate the screen.... Pls help....its really frustrating.. In an otherwise perfect phone

Do you have a case or screen protector on the phone? Those can sometimes interfere with the proximity sensor, causing it to always read as if the phone is being held to your ear. Smudges on the glass can cause the same issue so wipe down the front of the display to make sure it's crystal clear.

You can also use an app like this one to test out the proximity sensor without having to be in a call:

No covers or screen protector. My IT dept turned off the night sensor on the settings. It seems to have done the trick thus far.. Will update further, should things go south. Thank you

Interesting, I wasn't aware that you could disable that sensor. You wouldn't happen to know how they did that, do you?

That's even more interesting since the Night Light feature just adjusts the color temperature of the display on a fixed schedule... it doesn't use the sensors at all.

Ah, well, I'm glad that it seems to have fixed your issue all the same!
