I bought this android box from ebay
video playback works fine, even hd but I every build of xbmc I try either has stuttering playback or it crashes.

Is there any other firmware I could try? as I can't find out any information about this box

If it's a "Telechips TCC8800 Evaluation Board" then you got scammed it's not an Amlogic device which is needed for XBMC.

The best platform for XBMC is the Pivos XIOS don't bother buying any other generic Android box, it's not worth saving the few bucks as the Android XBMC builds are built specifically for the Pivos XIOS it's firmware and nothing else.

Pivos will be releasing an 8726-M3 based XIOS soon as well.

Yesterday I tryed again to start the tv-box. And when I dangle at the hdmi cable suddenly it work. So there is a defective contact at the box.
I registered to the play store and there was the next disappointment. The tv-box has Android 4.0.4. and is registered as
GXT Telechips TCC8800 Evaluation Board in the play store. Anyway there are al lot of Apps which are not kompatibel to the box.
Even the Adobe Flash Player is not kompatibel (see Screenshot). I also habe a Zenithink Tablet with Android 4.0.3. And all Apps are kompatibel to the Tablet.

I bought mine from ebay, after complaining about it I got a full refund and got to keep the box too, not that I ever use it...
