An android emulator Way better (more stable) than Blue Stacks?

I'd like to use an android emulator on my computer since my phone has to charge often (it's old..) and I'd still like to keep up with convos on Kik and Textnow (I don't have phone service..lol).

I tried Blue stacks, but to be Completely honest...it's Horrible in my opinion. It may be my computer or something, idk - but blue stacks does not work well at all to me.

Is there any other thing like blue stacks that's more...stable?
