My father always used to tell / warn me:
"Son haven't you heard? ... Pioneers get arrows in their backs!"
And I would eagerly reply:
"But what if the pioneer becomes so powerful and ingenious that he quickly discards of the useless and obsolete arrows and pulls out his guidance missile system?

Singapore is an amazing story of a very interesting and ingenious little country that went from "rags to riches" in a not too long at all time frame...
HOW did they do it - you ask?
BRILLIANT LEADERS
They had ingenious leadership that was honest and also ruthless and the destruction of nepotism (I hate communists)! Pretty much "brutal honesty" and what is the most effective and efficient means of creating honest work with great integrity!
When they had been expelled from Malaysia back in 1965 they were on a heavy road indeed...
However... due to an ingenious set of leaders Singapore went from "garbage" to "Omg I want you badly!!!' in some decades to come...
In 1965 many people remember having malnutrition with many other members of their society... however over the years what was once a destroyed country went from rags to riches!
An incredible history of an incredible country that used ingenious means of creating an extremely powerful economy that was once in ruins!
