Apps Android 1.5 Voice Recognition

I am trying to run the VoiceRecognition.java sample in the emulator to help me with a class project. (Note: I don't have an android phone just using the emulator) When I first ran it, there was no suitable device found but after reading around different forums I found out I needed the VoiceSearch.apk.

After installing the Voice Search the "speak" button in the program is there but the actual Voice Search app just crashes when I press it. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I solved that problem so I have a new one. I realized I had to go back to using 1.5 for the Voice Search app to work. Now the program is working properly until I have to actually speak. Does the emulator automatically pick up your microphone? I have a headset and a webcam plugged in which both have microphones. When I press the speak button to launch the Voice App it just says Audio Problem. I have attached a picture to show what I mean.
