Android 1.6 update leaves me without crucial apps

Hey, I upgraded my firmware following these instructions on my dev phone one:

Building For Dream Or Sapphire (Android Open Source Project)

And now I don't have the marketplace or youtube, missing crucial apps all of the sudden; anyone else been stranded like that? I can't get any apps.

So I had a G1 sold it to get a cliq. Hated it. Re bought a new G1 today.
I am also having problems with the market.
I can't find apps I just downloaded on my cliq....
What gives...? why can't i find my apps?

G1 runs 1.6, where as the Cliq runs 2.0. In other words we get screwed. Thanks T-Mobile rep for talking me into buying an obsolete phone.

Since when is the cliq running 2.0? It's running 1.5 still.
