Android 10 V40

Hey guys!!! I finally got Android 10 on my unlocked V40! It's pretty cool so far!! I wanted to ask you guys how you go into recovery mode on Android 10? I only have the factory reset option when I hold the power and volume down buttons... None of the procedures I read on the internet are working... And this install is fresh fresh, it's not possible that there's already a corrupted file somewhere is there?! :O

Is there an issue that makes you want/need to go into recovery mode, or are you just asking how to get there?

It is a subtle push to get you to buy a new device, imo.

I was used to buying and new phone every two years with Verizon's "New every two". But with that over, and my want for an earphone jack with quality sound, I'm not buying new phones so quick. A new phone's settings would be even more of a chore to figure out over an update. Since 5G doesn't thrill me, I don't have the desire for a new phone when my LG V40 is paid off in a few months.

Yes, I hate changing devices.
The first timez I went so far as to use a launcher that allowed me to pretty much mimic the older device.

This also came in handy when I set up my ol'lady's device as well.

Eventually I discovered serious issues with that launcher (Apex Classic), and have switched both of us to a FOSS launcher (KISS) that I love and my ol'lady only tolerates.

Just how reluctant am I to change devices?
I use Android 8.1.0, 7.1.1, 5.1.1, and my automobile- which I have had since 1995, is 50 years old.

I've been using Nova Prime for years and like it. It allowed me to arrange things that were impossible in Android 6. Verizon forced Android 10 on us and then LG just added an update on top of that. I've found that staying with the same brand lessons the shock of new phones. I was with HTC for a very long time but they turned to trash. So far LG phone is fine, but their support sucks and I don't know about other brands. ✌️

I actually like ZTE.
They have gotten a bad rap as of late, but their devices are economical with an efficient and simple UI.

The ones I use are low end, so none has ever received an update.

I checked Verizon here and they do have a ZTE prepaid phone. I use my phone as a replacement for a laptop so I need a higher end phone. Just curious, if you use a ZTE phone, why are you interested in the LG V40 ThinQ forum? We've had others that don't use this phone and I'm just wondering how our answers for a different phone would help you?

It is not just a forum for a particular device.

This is Android Forums, and as an Android user, any issues could be common among some or many users.

Issues or interests.

Also, if you really want a high end device, then using whatever is available as a prepaid is probably not your best option.

A device that is unlocked and compatible with all or many different providers may be the way to go.

I don't want to be difficult, but each forum is for a specific phone in this area. The name of this specific forum is LG V40 ThinQ. There are groups for specific phones so everyone can discuss issues on their specific model. When I had an HTC10, I posted in that forum. Now that I'm using an LG V40, I'm here. Discussing problems with a different phone just causes confusion. You can get more help if you talk to people that are using the same phone. If you check the name of this specific forum, it says:

You obviously can do whatever you want. But you would get more relevant information in the forum about your phone.

But I am not the one with the issue.
So I don't need to worry about it.

And to be honest, until the site changed recently, all issues showed up under one heading regardless of whatever device the issue was pertaining to.

All I was doing was offering advice.

If the only portions of this site I devoted any effort toward were ones regarding my devices, then frankly, there would be no reason for me to come to this site.
