Android 2.0 and beyond upgrades

So the early droid reviews say a crappy camera and music/video player. As they roll out 2.1, etc. will you be able to update the OS to the new versions on the droid? And is it possible to fix these problems with the updates? Once I sign the contract, I'm stuck with the phone for the next two years.

I wanna add to that question. I see the Eris is gonna have a version of flash. Ant the droid has beta. The apps from facebook will they be able to update from either phone? Like FarmTown. LOL I currently have the HTC Touch Pro (hate it) and it can't but the IPhone can. Thanks
