Root Android 2.3 Gingerbread

Just in case anyone is interested in attempting to port Gingerbread to the ZTE Racer, here is an article I found which links to the newly released source code for it.

Also, if anyone is interested they can try out the Gingerbread keyboard on their ZTE Racer, although I have just tested it out and it installs perfectly. However the text box is cut off when in landscape mode. You can download the apk here.

If there are any 2.2 or 2.3 roms i want to try them or anything else for that matter the phone is sitting in the draw.

hi,

just bought me a ZTE racer/link/softstone.

will it be possible to make a rom of android 2.3 for it?

i'm anxious for that:D

don't no anything about programing, but if I can help in any way u just ask and i'll do my best to serve you in the quest for gingerbread :)

I have been programming for a few years in Java and C. I would like to give porting Froyo or Gingerbread to the ZTE Link/Racer a try, but don't have much of a clue about how to go about it? Any advice? How easy/time consuming is it? I'd really like to try and help.

Not that 2.1 isn't bad :)

it should take you a few weeks if your an average programmer i have seen people spend a few days creating one but they were on the pc for like 20 hours a day.
