Android 4.4.2 turn on problem

So I got an S3 and obviously I've updated its android several times ever since the phone was bought. Overall the phone itself is good but I dont know, like I really got no clue WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF MAKING UPDATES TO ANDROID VERSION other than it just makes the phone performing slower and sh***ier and just adds some nonsense fancy stuff to the features. and in some cases removes some features which really sucks! when I first used the phone after buying I had an update rightaway and what did it do? it disappeared the DATA switch forever from notif. drawer!!!

Well I know my phone is a bit old and despite all other models it's a Dual Core S3. but what is this new problem that when I want to turn it on it jumps over the vibrate sound and the Galaxy S3 logo again and again and again like for around 10 times!!! ???? and then finally starts up!!

I hope somebody here knows a solution or something otherwise I would have to factory reset it which is a big big pain in the ass :|:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Thanks in advance:rolleyes::D

to android Forums.

Performance degradation - Wipe Cache Partition - this is where temporary files are stored and it can become corrupted over time. Wiping it will not touch any data that you saved or setting that you made. I wipe the Cache Partition on my Droid Maxx once a week.

The rule of thumb is to do a Factory Data Reset after you do any major system upgrade. Do it when it is least inconvenient so you are not backed into it when you are under pressure to do something else.

Wiping the Cache Partition might solve your problem but I think it is not very likely.

I think you knew the answer before you posted your message.

if you're attempting to run kitkat on an S3 you're going to get similar performance as you would running Windows 98SE on an i486. I was there. only ART managed to restore the stock performance.

This is the biggest gripe I have against Samsung. they release newer models so often it's not long until the older one looks so dated you might as well toss it. the feature set of the new generation is so hard to avoid the impulse. I got a Note 3 but will likely toss it for a Note 4 because of that damned itch. compared with the Note 3, the S3 comes off like a StarTAC. the design is dated, the UI is dated, the phone performs like something ten-years old.

Been there, done that. It happened to an S3 before the KitKat update. Hard factory reset took care of it

Well yeah I guess I already have the answer which is extremely inconvenient but a must if I need to keep this phone cause now it drives me nuts everyday.

I haven't been a very old user of Android and stuff but anyway from my not-so-long experience I'd say the word UPDATE has no freaking meaning whatsoever to me as an Android user, and if it has, that would be : USELESS CRAP :p in 4.2.2 Gallery Share Crash problem, slow performance, I said let's see that fixed in the newer version 4.4.2 then .... ok share button works awesome, but wait, the best is yet to come! Camera Fails???!!! Startup takes forever??? annnnd slowest than ever.

like even Nokia 3310 works better !!!! GOSH! Im not Bill Gates' Daughter to buy new phone every month!!!! And also there has been a problem my S3 battery had with Cold. it just F***d it up and I bought a new battery.
Yes it's totally true they just want us to buy a new phone every 6months otherwise who would be millionaires like them?!!!!

And also from my friends who are iOS users, I did not get better feedbacks about update either.

Sorry I'm nagging too much. Thanks for your replies folks :) cheers
