Help Android 6.0 Update trouble

Hello.

I just spent an hour installing the new marshmellow update. I have an HTC M9 unlocked international version. It appears that half the features I am reading about and seeing are not installed on my device. There is no new app draw, the notification panel looks the same as before. no system UI tuner, cant just say ok google on the home screen, etc. The android version under about phone does show 6.0 though. Any thoughts?

Thank you

I'd ask in our M9 forum to see what is normal. I can move this thread there if you want?

Some things may not be there. For example the app drawer is provided by the launcher app, and HTC use their own rather than the Google Now launcher, so any features that are part of the Google launcher rather than the base OS will not be present (unless you install the Google launcher). And the notifications are something else the manufacturer often customises.

So it's very likely this is all normal (my Samsung tablet recently got a Lollipop update, and it's nothing like other Lollipops I've met - manufacturers do do their own thing with the OS and apps).

Yes, please move it to the M9 forum. Thank you for the reply as well. It makes more sense now. I just got a lenovo tab 2 that has lollipop on it and just that notification panel is different then my phones was.

Thank you again.

OK, done. Sorry I can't help more, but I'm still using an M7, which isn't getting Marshmallow so can't say for sure what is in the HTC build.
