Android 8.0 oreo A5 2017 ds

I have the samsung galaxy a5 DS (2017) but have not received the ota update as of yet. Anyone know when it is due ?? to my device as i am pretty sure it is already available to the a5 2017 ?
 
It may depend on country and carrier. I've checked on Sammobile.com and for the global single-SIM A5 (A520F) it's available for most but not all - the are sometimes variations of a few months in when some countries/carriers get updates. I'd not found the dual sim model there so can't confirm status of that.

in the 'about phone option' it says that is is the same as the A520F.. i am from australia
 
If it is dual sim I wouldn't take it for granted that it's the same, but if you have the full model number and product code it should be possible to find out.

S8 is irrelevant here: firmware is specific to the phone model, and different models from the same manufacturer get it at different times.

If this phone was originally bought through one service provider but is being used with another that can sometimes affect whether you get the update notification as well.

where is the product code ?
 
I see posts suggesting typing *#1234# into the dialer, so give that a go. It's also known as the CSC.

Or it will be on a label on the box.
 
No idea who or what Kogan is, but if it's some sort of importer it might be that you have a non-Australian model. That seems likely to me, since on Sammobile.com that particular string seems to match an Iraqi CSC. And Iraq is a country whose A5s have not received Android 8 yet.
 
Also is there a way to download the 8.0 update instead of ota.. As I assume that this will work considering that it's the same specs as all A5 2017 phones if so can you please provide me a link I assume xda??

Also I am %100 sure they gave me a refurbished phone lol because it did not go through a new setup of a new device and the calender has already been used which I never use calender reminders.. Sigh never again
