Android anti-virus/anti-malware

I bought a used HTC One E9 +, off eBay and it should arrive soon.
I suppose there is a small number of used phones sold, that have been compromised with a virus or malware.
Is there any anti-virus or anti-malware software available for scanning a phone?

If you are concerned about a 2nd-hand phone being compromised, the best way to assure it's safe would be to reflash the stock firmware. If the seller has ever rooted or modified the phone, or you suspect malware, it may not possible to remove it, even if a scanner detects it.
