Android Auto Astra 16 plate

Hello anyone had problems with Android Auto working intemittetly ??
I havea 16 plate Astra and galaxy S8

I can get it work no problem, but only on occasions.

Changed leads about 5 times, but same issue, sometimes works prefeectly, but then maybe wont work for a couple days, then works again.
Unit recognises phone being plugged in every time but doesn't change over to Android Auto, remains on projection.

Any advice appreciated

Any chance it's when you have Bluetooth enabled? That's my only experience of problems when delivering different vehicles.
You'll get better advice here I'm sure.

For those in the US a '16 plate Astra is NOT an unusual dinner set.
