Android Auto Connection Issues Resolved with OS 9?

I have a Pixel 2 XL that has had major issues with Android Auto starting in December of 2017. I'm reluctant to allow the update without confirming from others that the Android Auto connection issue is resolved. I currently have AA working intermittently and don't want to lose what little connection I have.

Thanks!

My AA is not working after pie upgrade :(

Planning to contact Google support...tried all options nothing seem to work...

Advise: don't update yet!

jagadesh24m,

Thank you for the response.

Unfortunately, the post was up so long without any responses I 'broke down' and allowed the OS update.

Initially when attempting to launch Android Auto after the update it appeared that I was worse off then previously as AA did not launch and my Pixel 2XL was jumping from 'USB charging' to another status every few seconds which was not something I had experienced before. I ended up un-installing AA and 'forgetting' the settings for each vehicle and then re-installed and re-initialized and now AA is working as it should for the first time since late December 2017. If you are still experiencing issues try uninstalling AA and forgetting any vehicle settings, then reinstall. If that still fails I would do a Factory Data Reset and then try again...

I've had the same problem but i fixed the problem....i have a google pixel 2 xl and i also recently upgraded to android 9 pie so there's no need to go back to oreo....make sure you have a 3ft.usb cord with the usb logo on it.....make sure the car is in the park position and the parking brake engaged.....do not open the android auto app just yet......attach the usb cord to the car port and then to your phone.....go to settings on your phone then type in the search engine "usb".....click on the first link and ck."file transfer".....exit out then go to settings on your infotainment center navigate to system and see if android auto is highlighted if so click on it to check....if so go out to the app link on infotainment and see if you're able to click on android auto if not open your app on your phone and your system should recognize it and start to go through the setup process if not go back to app on the infotainment center and toggle down to android auto & select....then go to the app on your phone and open....follow the setup process. Good Luck!!
