Help Android backup apps - Titanium vs Helium?

So, these two seem to be the two most well known backup apps, and I just wanted people's opinions on them. Especially since I will likely purchase the pro/full version of the one I decide to go with.

Is any particular one better if you don't have root?

What about if you do have root?

Any difference in the amount of content they can back up?

Is there anything any of them still can't backup if you have root? I am particularly interested in app settings/data (not the apks themselves, but the actual data the apps write). I assume backing up contacts, sms, and photos/videos are a given and I wouldn't even need to ask this.

Does any particular one have better features in term of storing your backup on the cloud/google drive?

What about if you need to restore the backup to a different phone?

Any other suggestions or comments about these two? Or even other backup apps?

With Helium you can backup the applications and its data or you can just backup the application data for a smaller backup size, allows to backup data on cloud storage services like dropbox, google drive. The best part of Helium : it is designed for non rooted device and it works great while Titanum only works on rooted device. With the help of desktop client you can activate helium on rotted device as well.

In terms of functionality, Titanium offers more features such as frezzing an app, converting a system app to user app and more. You can also send the backup through e-mail attachments. For more details please watch the video below

Anything Helium can do, Titanium can do but as has been pointed out, Titanium needs root.

For me, Titanium is far and away the better backup solution as it will back up everything, whereas Helium, even on a rooted device struggles to back up certain apps (in my experience, 20-25% of apps can't be backed up by Helium).

Titanium is also updated constantly and last time I checked, Helium hasn't been updated since June 2015.
