Android bluetooth connectivity

hey guys.
i have a problem while trying to connect my gsm hero with my mercedes. both can recognise each other but the message is always "authentication failed". i guess its a profile manner, but do you know how do i change my phone bluetooth profile??

I had an issue like that with a friends car. We got it working by turning off the bluetooth on the phone, starting the car, then turning the BT on again, and then pairing it from the BT menu.

It was a little quirky, and sometimes would need a rescan after the car was turned off.

I ahve a problem with bluetooth dropping calls after about three minutes into a call. And bluetooth audio pairing on new BMW 3 series

Sometimes, it helps to update the software in your car BT audio. I had a similar issue with my Desire, but after downloading and updating the BT receiver software in the car, the problem was fixed (if you don't know how, ask the dealer).
