Greetings,
The title of this thread is a suggestion for the title of a potential Developer sub-forum in which all things business may be discussed: starting an Android sotware development company, intellectual property protection, incorporation and patent documents, proper utilization of Android Market for profit, taxation, states or nations preferable for incorporation, etc.
The intention of this thread is that I may obtain the means to easily generate the documents nessessary for incorporating a business entity through which I can disseminate my products, and the documents nessessary to successfully prosecute software patents for their protection, and to have all findings available for future generations of Android software business owner wannabes, thus diminishing their burdens.
I hope to find others willing to cooperate with me towards meeting these goals, it would surely make my life easier.
See you on "Android Business!"
Below would be the first thread of the proposed sub-forum, titled "Somebody please share the Articles of Incorporation for your software development company!"
Greetings,
I am a nascent Android developer who has successfully developed a fully functional and useful (I use it myself, every day) application for the Android OS. It's not really fit for open sourcing; I think I should make some money with it instead. However I'm so effing poor I can't even think about incurring the expense of paying an attorney to form a corporation to protect my personal assets and organize any income the release of my app may generate. If it's not much trouble and it's legal and everything, if you have incorporated, can I look at your "Articles of Incorporation"? After you have deleted all personal info, of course. If I can reduce the expense of incorporating to the cost of filing with my state I could be that much closer to the potential of actually having some assets to protect.
Or if you know where a boilerplate template is (focused on software development) and you can direct me to it, that would be greatly appreciated.
But please don't suggest any proprietary software, because I haven't had a working Windows installation for more than 5 years and I don't own a Mac.
Please describe, in as much detail as you can afford, your incorporation experience.
Thanks in advance for any effort you may be willing to expend.
