Sorry am very much a newby to the tecnology side of my phone Can anyone help me i would very much apreciate any help ? Thankyou

OK, the reason our software turned that into ******* is because it's a bad site.

I checked it anyway and it's no good - do not spend any money there. It won't work.

If your contacts and apps were set up to back up to Google and HTC automatically - the default - then they ought to automatically come back to your replacement phone.

If you didn't do that and if you didn't use a Play Store backup app to begin with, like Helium, then your data was lost with your phone.

Thankyou for your help and warning glad I didn't pay for it. I've looked at my Gmail account and gone into account settings Which I never even New was there sorry such a newbie to all this. My phone was definitely linked up to it under dash board it says down load data. Shall I do that.? I'm just so scared of doing anything unknown again and to lose more on my phone. Thank you

Look at your M8 main settings, Accounts and see that you are syncing your Google account.

Look in your app drawer for Setup and run that - you may also have some HTC backup help.

Hi Thank you i have found set up:)
How do i run this?
The only action the phone will let me do in set up is force stop

That's not good.

Let's fix everything.

OK, if I were you, I would not hesitate to go to main settings, Backup and reset, scroll to bottom and choose to reset the phone.

This will remove your apps and data but - it will make your phone act like it is new out of the box.

Everything will work, and as you go through the setup screens carefully (I always have to read them twice to understand them), you will configure your phone with the right information and anything that Google and HTC backed up for you will be restored.

Don't be afraid of the reset - I do it often, it's your best friend at times like these.
