Android Dev 1 updated to cupcake

I bought my G1 ebay and it turns out that I got the developer phone, which wasn't my intention. It came with version 1.1 and I really want to upgrade to 1.5. I rad htc.com and the google android developer site and manually upgrading the phone with their ADK is too complex for me. Is there soemthing else that I can do?

I also downloaded that file that you are supposed to name update.zip and started the g1 with the home key down and pushed alt l and then alt-s, but when it runs the update package, it says that it's not signed or couldn't be verified. How else can I update to 1.5?

I had the same problem, it turns out my zip was corrupted. If you download it again and verify that you can open that zip it should work.

1.5 isnt the latest update, if you want to know how to get to 1.6 we can help ya out. let us know.

put the draimg.nbh on the main folder of your sdcard
turn phone off
power back on by holding camera + power to enter bootloader
follow instructions on the screen, DO NOT INTERUPT
reboot
sign into google and wait an hour to a day to recieve ota 1.6 update
