Job Responsibilities:
Our client, located in Charlotte, NC is in the process of building out a Mobile Center of Excellence (CoE) for Android and iPhone/iPad development. The selected candidate will be part of a software development team and will be responsible for the following activities: analysis of business requirements, translation of design and development of mobile applications on the Android platform. S/he will work closely with the business and design/technical team to interpret business requirements and effectively develop the applications according to the requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Development & Delivery:
- Participate in the specification and design phase
- Prototype, code and test components
- Work closely with the business to tweak requirements throughout the development phase
- Support operational and production systems when needed
Teamwork and Project Execution:
- Meet with technical staff and business daily in an iterative/agile model
- Demonstrate an understanding of mobile application coding standards
- Make innovative contributions and embrace new ideas
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members
- Consult with team members on design and delivery of content to ensure functionality
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 1+ years developing mobile applications on the Android platform
- Knowledge of common Android framework APIs
- 5+ years of Java-based application development
- Knowledge of web service technologies and services
- Experience with Android SDK
- Experience developing web applications
- Extensive experience with XML and XSLT
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
