I had the iPhone 3GS, then the iPhone 4, and during the lifespan with these phones I tried to get into iPhone development.
I've been a developer for 6 years using various languages including Java, C++, C# but one language I didn't agree on was Objective-C. The messaging system is beautiful, albeit difficult to get used to. What I didn't like was the framework, unconventional naming constructs and the iOS platform. It felt like I was learning C++ for the first time.
Each time I approached it I had a negative attitude because I just didn't like it.
So, I got an S2. I enjoy Java and was desperate to build some mobile apps. Within hours, literally, I was racing through chapters of "Hello Android". Everything I was reading was clicking into place and sticking in my head.
The Android SDK is really nice and the Android platform is also nice.
Did anyone here have a similar experience?
