android/dropbox question

Hi guys, first time poster....always end up viewing these forums when I need hep so may as well register!

Basically I want to know if I can edit documents in drop box from my s3.

I have generic documents stored on my db (as back up) but sometimes when Im out on the road and need parts it would be really handy to raise a purchase order and email it, without having to wait all day and doing it from my office when I get back.

Is it possible to do that because I cant find an option to edit! Unless of course one of you guys can suggest a better way of doing it without dropbox?....It just seems more sensible as my files are stored on there!

Thanks

Yep - you can do that but you need another App, personally I use Polaris Office (free) but there are lots of others. You can set drop box as a file location and open, edit and re-save documents of most common types.

As scribley mentioned you can definitely do it, I too use Polaris (great app).

Thanks, and thanks guys for the info :D This will make my life so much easier.

Just one more thing, I installed Polaris and olive office....The olive Office seems easy to use with the function for the keyboard at the bottom and the 'save as' facility obv.....but with Polaris im struggling to get the keyboard up to edit documents....where is it?

Cheers.

Polaris free is only a reader. You have to buy it if you want to use it to edit.

If you are having any problems with Polaris then take a look at Kingsoft Office - also free. Just tried it on an old slow Galaxy Ace and it works fine (enables editing and re-saving too even in free version)

I was about to suggest Kingsoft, I used this one too and it was as good as you can expect a file editor to be on a mobile device!
