Android emulator does not load html page.

Guys, I have created Android-Phonegap app using eclipse IDE.
i AM NEW TO Android programming.
I have created an HTML page containing an image.I have gone through the getting started with phonegap.My problem is that, when I run my app, the app gets installed successfully, but displays a blanck layout on opening, instead of displaying the index.html file.
