Android Forum question

Is there any way to get an alert on your phone whenever someone comments on a post you made, or when you add your 2 cents to a thread and the thread continues after your comment? Or is that only for pm's? Thanks in advance for the help:)

Thread tools, subscribe to thread, then instant email notification...

this is assuming you have e-mail on your phone.... worst case it may take 5 in or so to go get e-mails.

Go to your User CP, pick Options from the list on the left and then set 'Default Thread Subscription Mode' to 'Instant email notification'.

Then every thread you posted in will automatically be subscribed to in the same way mkampy described, but without any extra clicking :)

Look below the reply box and you will see options to subscribe to the thread. I subscribe to several threads and the messages come to my phone as they are posted. Well, perhaps there is a delay, but there you go.

One new Beeeeees helpful hind.

You can also set this as default in your User CP so whenever you first contribute to a thread you are automatically subscribed.

Edit Options >Messaging and Notifications.

I am a newby- obviously. I just figured out how to get my Android 2.2 to allow my e-mail to be accessible but now everytime I get a new e-mail it gives me a not-wanted ringtone. I want the e-mail message to silently go into my inbox and not let me know there is a new one. I am a substitute teacher and need my sleep (its bad enough for the schools to wake me up at 5:00a.m. let alone unwanted e-mail notifications.) Thanks for any help. Bonnie:confused:

Are you talking GMAIL or Mail coming in via HTC Mail app?

In either case, open the desired app, go to settings, and turn of notification sound/tone. Let me know if you need further help.
