Just install from the Play Store over WiFi, no need to use the laptop.
If you have the app installer (apk) already then copy to the phone, enable installation from unknown sources in the Security menu of the phone, then click on the apk file using any file explorer app. But only do this if you are sure the apk is legitimate - you don't want to install malware on your phone (which is why I suggested installing from the Play Store, as well as the greater convenience).
