Help Android GO for LG K3 help?

Hi, i'm new to ever doing anything like this with Androids. I was wondering if it is possible, and how I would do an update to get Android 8 GO running on the K3? I think it'd be a great phone for GO, and it's a shame it wasn't released on it.

You can't. Any release of android needs to be built for the device, including Android Go. So only LG could get that phone on the program.

If you can root the phone you could install an AOSP custom ROM, if someone has made one for that phone. But you then rely on the ROM developer for updates (which might well be better than relying on LG ).

Thank you! I haven't found any, but I'm pretty sure for stuff like that you have to delve deep. I haven't done any rooting or ROM hacking to any phone before so it'd be completely new to me.
