Help Android Google Sync with multiple devices question

BJBBJB

Newbie
Greetings. I hope I am posting this in the correct area as it is an android sync question vs. a phone or tablet-specific question.

I have an S7 Edge and a Samsung TabA tablet along with still using old-school desktop Outlook on a PC that I use mostly for archive purposes.

For years I have used "My Phone Explorer" to sync my android phone with any changes to/from my PC-based Outlook program on a windows desktop which has worked great. I currently do not sync contacts or calendar with google sync on the phone. I do not use gmail (although I have an account for apps and backup) and my e-mail is fine on all devices with IMAP.

Now I find myself using my tablet more and more and it is on an island without contacts or calendar.

Here is the question! My Phone Explorer populates and syncs the google "gmail" calendar and contacts on my S7. So if my outlook and phone are in sync, can I turn ON google sync for my phone contacts and calendar will it then sync/copy everything from my phone to google/gmail calendar/contacts? Even though that calendar was not populated by my phone input or google, it would not care, correct?

THEN, if I turn google sync on for my tablet for contacts and calendar, it will populate that?

Of course if I did not want to archive with Outlook (which I would like to continue), I could just turn google sync on everywhere and it would just work! But if I keep outlook in the mix where My Phone Explorer is updating the calendar and contacts on my phone, will that mess up the google sync?

Thanks,
BJBBJB

I don't see any problem with your logic. I have used both sync systems myself but never together. Just based on my knowledge of software (engineer) there will be some idiosyncrasies that you will discover. Hopefully none of these will be deal breakers.

Cheers

If the contacts are sync'ed to your Google account, then it will sync to every other device connected to that Google account. How you got the contacts there doesn't matter. Calendar events are another matter. If I recall, Google calendar will only sync fairly recent or future events (past 60 days?). If you have older events, you will have to enter them manually.
