Android keeps switching USB mode to charging after I selected data transfer

Hi there,

my android mobile switches from data transfer to usb charging automatically after I specifically selected the data transfer option over the usb charging. I can click a thousand times on the data/file transfer option and it immediately switches on its own to usb charing.
I need my phone to communicate with a skycontroller3 from a parrot anafi drone, but the phone just keeps draining the controller for charging.

How can I stop the phone from switching the mode I just selected a second before?

I have a Huawei P10 lite with android EMUI 8.0.0

Could be a compatibility problem? Have you tried another USB cable? I've never heard of this drone manufacturer before, and don't have a drone myself, so don't know much about them, well I've heard of DJI. If nobody else here knows anything, could be worth you contacting their customer support about it?

Ok, so I stumbled onto this thread last night.
I know that it is an old thread, but I still ran it by an old friend of mine that just so happens to be an expert with drones, both technically and legally.

Here is his unedited answer:

Parrot drones suck. Those three words are basically the answer to the concern. The best advice there is to sell the Parrot and buy a DJI or Autel. They'll hate taking the loss on the sale, but they will see a world of difference in going for a terribly designed and built toy to a quality machine that just outright works. But foregoing that they may want to borrow a friend's iPad Mini 2 or better or give a try with a more recent upgrade on an Android. The P10 is on the low end for drone control - in fact, the newest drones require 64 bit architecture or their app won't even load.
