Android Lounge?

I'm all for organization but IMO. Its just too much. Its like android fragmentation! ( :p ) but in all seriousness I'd like to have a single lounge to ask generalized android questions... If it were me (and maybe its why I don't run androidforums haha) I'd even get rid of the subforums for specific devices. Lots of times when I'm looking to help people or look to solve questions (maybe that's weird but someone will have a question and I will do some research ect.) I would go to the one android lounge. People have questions in other forums that are answerable in a generalized android sence.

Maybe its just me. But it would make things easier if it went back to the way it was.

Subforums for different devices do have their purpose. For one thing, many questions are device-specific. For another, nobody would ever find your thread if it shared a forum with all of the device threads there are in AF - it would be few pages down and invisible very quickly ;)

This is the lounge. New name, but as always that could change.

Questions/Topics about a device belong in the device specific forum. I don't know the menu selections on the Samsung Galaxy S88, but members with that device will easily be able to navigate someone to their advanced settings to achieve that perfect crispiness on their next pastry (yeah, its coming ;) ). I used a crazy example, but the point should make it though the confectionery haze. Members with the device know how to answer it best.

The lounge is, and continues to be, for general android questions / topics/ news. The new title reflects that this isnt meant to be a one stop shop for everyones questions. You'll always get the best help from others who have your device.

The subforums for individual devices are 100% neccessary.

I don't want to see 3 million posts about Touchwiz specific questions, how to root your HTC One etc.....

And that's why I don't run androidforums folks :p but I still maintain that a lot of answerable posts are lost due to device specifity. In any rate I am always glad to see ongoing support and development. Updates are always nice :)

Android News & Talk is essentially the lounge... if it's not device specific then ask or discuss in this forum. The named seemed more appropriate as lounge seems to depict an off topic area and we want this focused on android discussion.

We could potentially adjust the title... but in my opinion this is the best fit for our needs. Happy to hear continued opinions and ideas though.
