Android Market Can't see apps

Hi Guys,

I looked for similar posts and couldn't find an answer. So I just unlocked my phone and then installed a bunch of apps just using the apk files that I saved. However, the android store can't detect them meaning I can't get updates for them. Is there a way to scan my phone for the apps so that they show up in the market again? The apps that I installed after the unlocking through the store do show up. It's just the ones installed via apk files. I appreciate the help. Thanks!!

If you install the APK then it might not update.

Uninstall the app and install the app from the app store.

For example....If I download an APK for some pirated game. It won't update.

If the APKs won't install, you have to turn on Software->Unknown Sources....but I assume you have that turned on.

It is never recommended you install the APKs.

If you installed an app 2 years ago using my google account, and I purchased that app. If I buy a new phone and login using my same google account, then I get that app back.

The apps are not pirated. I just saved them on my memory card so I wouldn't have to redownload. I guess the only way is to reinstall if there isn't a way to scan for them. Thanks for the response.
