Android Market Connection Issue

Hi, new around here but been reading for a long time.

Last night my wife (who has an HTC G2) was trying to access the android market and when she did it would pull up an error saying that she was trying to log in with a You Tube account that was not even hers and the password was wrong so she could not access the market.

I messed around with it for a while but could not figure out how to make it go away or reset the connection so she get back to entering in her g mail account info and back to her apps.

Wondering if anyone has seen this before and if you can tell me how to reset the connection from her g mail account to the android market in her phone without doing a complete reset of her phone cause that is not going to make her very happy.

Found this:
1. select menu -> settings -> applications -> manage applications

2. scroll down and click "Google Apps"

3. click the "Clear data" button (you will receive a warning, click OK)

4. go back to home screen

5. pull down the notification menu and click on the message "Your account must be updated"

6. follow the onscreen instruction until you get to where it asks you to "create" or "sign in", click "sign in" and enter YOUR new Google account info.


Hopefully it works. Figure it's better than a factory reset.
