Android Market Update

So, Google is updating the Android Market, and according to their blog it is going out for ALL devices running 1.6 and above.

I've contacted RogersMary to confirm if that includes Canadians (and specifically Rogers customers), however I have yet to have a response.

The update is supposed to be delivered OTA, and started rolling out Dec 13. Have any of you see it yet?

And before anyone starts suggesting it, yes, i know there is an .apk out there to side load it, however there have also been some warnings about using it. Even if there weren't potential issues, my concern is not about getting it for myself (and/or my ability to "just load the .apk") but rather whether or not the majority of "common" users (who aren't likely side-loading apps) going to get it.

I got the update and it acts like the Froyo version now. I'm not on the stock rom but I go through Rogers so to google I'm on the same device as any Rogers user.
Actually the biggest treat is the Maps update. Vector graphics for much better speed and also has offline caching.

The new market is running just fine on mine. Just go into applications under settings and uninstall updates for the market. That puts your market back to the base version that came with the phone. Then when you go into your market App it will update itself to the new version.

Or just be patient and wait till it happens naturally.

Its not going OTA by carrier it is just sending it to your phone through your google account. Carriers aren't involved.

Yep, my market updated on the weekend. Thankfully, something we can get updated without Rogers or HTC getting in the way. ;-)
