Android Market won't open after update

Hi there. Hubby has got a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc (same as me).

He got notification to say there was an update to the phone software today, so he rushed to update it. After that, we found that the Market wouldn't open, it kept just saying "no connection retry". I did retry and nothing happened.

I checked the internet connection here and it's fine. I went into the app itself and tried "uninstall update" to see if that would fix it. But now, the market screen will just flash open for a split second and then close again.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Hi there.

Just to let you know, we appear to have fixed it.

We just went to the "delete user data" in the settings menu.

Settings>privacy>settings reset.

This seems to have fixed the problem and we now have the Android market back.
