Android Market

Help!! I live in the Bahamas and I recently purchased a droid phone (charm) I absolutly love it. However, my one big problem is that I cant access the droid market. I created a gmail account on my laptop and tried to put it in my phone but it's just not working! Can I access the android market by wifi or would data plan be really neccessary?

I think you should be able to do it over wifi.

You can access the market on the computer now.

I just recently researched that. So just go on to one of the websites and plug my phone in and just download them on?

Ok sorry for bothering you again but, I went home and I tried the wifi and i still cant access my gmail account to get on the droid market. however i went to the market and when i sign in to my gmail they would say this "There are no android phones associated with this account. Please sign in with a different account." What I am suppose to do??? Please help.
