Android Question

Hi there,

I am using Android V5.0.2 (lollipop) with Motorola G2, for some reason I can't see message notifications on the icons of programs like Viber, WeChat, WhatsApp etc. It will only show it on the top at a small icon that I barely see. The same applies for phone messages, emails and colander notifications. I assume it should show a number on the top right of each program icon when I receive a new message notification but I actually don't see anything except hearing a beep (ringtone...)

Do you guys know what I need to do to set it up so it will show those numbers/notifications on the icon of each program so I would know where the message is coming from...?

Thanks in advance. Much appreciated!

Is that a standard feature of the Motorola Lollipop launcher, or are you just assuming it should be? I don't really know this device, but this isn't a standard Android feature.

You can add such notification "badges" to some icons when using an alternative launcher. For example, both Nova and Apex launchers have ad-ons (TeslaUnread and Apex Notifier respectively, if I remember correctly) which you can install from the Play Store to give you this functionality for message apps, hangouts, various email apps and the phone dialler. You have to use the launcher plus the corresponding add-on - there may be other launchers that also do this type of thing, just those are the two I know offhand. Both of those will do WhatsApp, but I don't see Viber or WeChat listed in either app so no promises there.
