Help Android MID 2.2 OS help please

first thing i am an dummie when it comes to this tablet. yesterday i was able to surf the net through browser but couldn't download any apps but kept getting you are not connected to internet...i was with a strong connection. i tried to restore to factory setting and that didnt help...i have also tried clearing data and caches. does anyone have advice for me pls
