Android Netbook and support for 56K Modem and Ethernet

Hi Folks
I would like to buy a google android computer this semester. The problem is that they come with just built in Wi Fi. What If I am traveling country and need to use a 56K Modem or I need to use a Wired Ethernet .
Is there ANYWAY I can use a USB 56K Modem or USB Wired LAN ( Ethernet ) on an ipad or google android computer ?

If you have access to a wired ethernet, then you could attach a router and use wifi that way. As far as I know, there isn't a way to directly use a wired connection on an Android device.
