Help Android Open Accessory Development Kit for ACE

Hi All,
Is Android Open Accessory Development Kit supports galaxy ACE. I tried install the demo but it is saying not supported.

Any way to install/support this. Somebody said kernel will help. i don't understand what is kernel. Is it root the phone?

Please help me. I want to experiment with arduino...

Currently i have the following version on my ACE

Android Version - 2.3.6 (stock - not rooted)
Baseband version - S5830DDKQ8
Kernel Version - 2.6.35.7-perf-CL972857 dpi@DELL166#1
Build Number -GINGERBREAD.DDKQ8
