Android OS 2.01 + HTC Legend Two questions

So I bought and thought it was a good move to get the HTC Legend. Turns out it may not be.

I wanted a phone that could replace my mp3 player(which I use extensively almost 8 hours a day). But after only 2 weeks the Headphone jack has become glitchy and unbearable, I haven't exposed it to any kind of strain that should in any way have damaged it that any of my previous mp3 players would have been upset by. Is there anything I can do about this? Repairs take 3 weeks, and if it's gonna be like this every two weeks I've done a bad deal.

Secondly I have a question about the android OS and especially the Messages App. It's easy to find your way around the notification window and simply press the phone number or the person which has sent you new messages. But why do the new messages appear at the bottom of the page? And why aren't there any settings that can alter this in the Messages App menu window? Every time I get a new message that is too big for the Message App widget I have to scroll through all of the messages from that person(this takes about 4-8 swipes depending on that folder). It's just tedious, and it's not "smart" in any way, I can't figure out any good reason for seeing the first messages I got two weeks after I got them if I just got a new message from that same person.

If anyone can help I'd appreciate the effort, maybe the HTC Legend is just plain bad, but the pricetag says no and the reviews says it's supposed to be great. Well, I'm not happy about it.
 
Also I don't get why I can't find any info on the net about the SMS(Message) widget. It can't just be me finding this annoyance to be a bit over the top.
 
Can't say anything about the headphone jack since I never use it but as for the SMS mine always shows the newest on top. However I now use Handcent SMS since it's way better anyways. It's free, has many settings, has a widget and a quick reply pop up option which I find useful.

Thank you I will try that since my messages did the reverse of that when it came from the factory. But thanks a lot.
 
i used my headphone jack since the first day i bought it which is april 28th and it's working fine. =D might be an hardware issue? bring it to your vendor?

Got it yesterday and I can't believe this isn't the standard application. It's awesome, just awesome. You're right I can't see myself going back to the original message app now.

Yeah it's quite possible. Although they say they need 3 weeks to fix it, which is just rediculous, I need my phone too much for that :S. Wonder if it's possible to get some third party service team to fix it more quickly if I pay them?

Anyone know if three weeks is standard for such a small issue? I mean fixing headphone jacks have been done on walkmans since the 70s?
