Help android os using too much mobile data at background

hi, i am new here. i use lenovo a6000 android phone running kitkat 4.4.4,while using internet i come to know that ,android os itself using much of mobile data at the background.i changed setting and restrict background data but problem still persist .what can i do to limit android os background data usage.i installed noroot firewall ,but that does not solve the problem.what can i do ,please giude mi.

Go into the network data settings, and that should give you more information about what's actually using the data, e.g. Facebook.
