Have I missed something in all the research prior to buying an Android based phone.

Why are some individuals saying that any phone bought now will be obsolete after OS 2.2? (expected 19th May ??)

Honestly, it's because people don't know what they are talking about. Don't listen to them, if you bought a phone now, it won't be obsolete in any way shape or form. Yes new things will come out, but, thats just the way it is.
